LayerZero to wind down off-chain support for 13 lower-activity blockchains

LayerZero said on Sept. 26 that it is gradually ending off-chain support for a group of lower-activity blockchains. The change affects 13 networks: Aurora, Taiko, Japan Open Chain, LightLink, Viction, Animechain, XPLA, Merlin, Gnosis, Zora, Otherworld Space, XAI, and opBNB. Once the change takes effect, those networks will no longer be able to use LayerZero’s DVN and Executor services. The move will also cause Stargate Hydra to stop supporting some of the affected chains. LayerZero urged users to redeem Hydra-related assets on those networks, including USDC.e, wETH, and Hydra USDT. The company added that the final list of impacted networks and the effective dates should be based on its official notice.

LayerZero to Phase Out Off-Chain Support for 15 Low-Activity Chains Over the Next 30 Days

LayerZero said on Aug. 22 that it will gradually stop providing off-chain support for 15 networks over the next 30 days because their activity is extremely low. The list includes EDU Chain, Meter, Shimmer, Cyber, Silicon, Sophon, Bitlayer, DFK Chain, Arbitrum Nova, DOS Chain, Cronos zkEVM, Degen, Skale Europa, Superposition and Shrapnel. Once the transition is complete, DVN and Executor services will no longer support those networks, and some of them will also lose Stargate Hydra support. LayerZero added a user warning: holders should redeem Hydra assets such as USDC.e, wETH and Hydra USDT from the affected networks in time.
